| THE LOWES WONG JUNIOR SCHOOL is taking part in European Year 2003. Two very experienced teachers have obtained a small grant to help develop links between teachers and pupils of a similar school in Europe. The existing link between Cesky Brod and Southwell presents an opportunity to establish positive and ongoing cultural links between Lowes Wong School and the Cesky Brod Junior School involving teachers and pupils. The two Southwell teachers, Anne Lewis and Alison Hurd, intend to visit Cesky Brod to meet teachers and pupils to develop the project. The Head Teacher of Lowes Wong School has experience of establishing links with schools in Greece and Finland. The grant would be used towards the cost of air travel. The Cesky Brod Association of Southwell is, of course fully in support and is very enthusiastic. This is seen as expanding and strengthening our links. |
