The back of the house looks onto the beautiful and often floodlit Minster. Within a few minutes walk there is a choice of several eating places of varying prices and cuisine. The Minster was founded in Saxon times and is the most rural Cathedral in England. The Chapter House contains some of the finest stone carving in existence. The 'Leaves of Southwell' are world renowned. Dining Room   Southwell Minster - The Broadwalk A mile or so away is the famous racecourse, and a little further afield are many places of interest: Newstead Abbey, once the home of Lord Byron, Belvoir Castle, Lincoln with its old cobbled streets and wonderful Cathedral, Holme Pierrepont National Watersports Centre and last but not least, Robin Hood Country. The Derbyshire Peak District is also within easy reach, as indeed are several National Trust Houses. Also worth mentioning is our proximity to the Newark and Swinderby antique fairs which are held six times a year and attract dealers and collectors from far and wide.
